As Eat Out To Help Out Scheme Draws To A Close, Over 64 Million Meals Have Been Claimed!

Over 64 million meals have been enjoyed across the nation by the diners since the launch of the government’s Eat Out to Help Out discount scheme.

An average of 87,000 cases have been made by many people of the signed-up businesses, as people ‘back hospitality’ and take the Monday to Wednesday advantage created by the Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

As the scheme draws to a nearby on Monday 31 August, new data from OpenTable shows that during Eat Out to Help Out’s third week, the quantity of customers at UK restaurants over the 3 day window was 61% higher compared with the same last year.

The average level across Monday to Wednesday in the first and second week was 12% and 41% respectively.

An average of 35 million suppers was enjoyed in the second week.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak stated: “The present figures keep on indicating that Brits are backing hospitality with in excess of 64 million meals discounted so far, that is equivalent to nearly each individual in the nation dining out to secure jobs.

“This scheme showed the amount of love we have to dine out, and in doing so, how this is going to help protect the jobs of over 2 million individuals working in hospitality industry.

There are currently 84,000 sign-ups from restaurants for the plan.
